Given the excessively high time commitment of playing on speed servers, there is no reason for not having a dual after you’ve played a few rounds on your own.
I decided to play on a foreign server because I wanted to test a few things including:
- Could I get into alliance No. 1 with no help
- Could I run an account on my own and still beat players who started 4 weeks before me (I started 4 weeks late)
- Better my Italian…
Turns out I was able to pull off No 2…but only part of No. 1. If I had a dual (not a sitter) I could have had some cover while I was sleeping. I probably would also have had the sense to call for reinforcements in a more coherent way instead of “io bisogno i rinforzi…” (which sounds about right to me).
To be honest I was getting a little fed up running the account on my own and juggling bigger events in RL as well. It was madness! I needed a break, but there was no one there to give me some slack.
But it was fun too! Lesson learned.
